Vaillant Group manufactures solar flat plate collectors for heating support and hot water production in Gelsenkirchen. At this location some 100,000 panels with a gross collector area of about 250,000 m² are being manufactured annually since June 2008. The investment volume amounts to some 5m euro. The solar collectors of the brands Vaillant and Saunier Duval produced in Gelsenkirchen are sold especially in Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Austria and the Netherlands with several configurations.
Even in August 2006 Vaillant started the production of energy efficient heat pumps in Gelsenkirchen. Their heat pump type "geoTHERM plus" won at the actual heat pump test 6/2007 of Stiftung Warentest and was graded 1.1. In addition Vaillant Group manufactures state-of-the-art heat recovery ventilation appliances which are very efficient and used in zero energy homes. Vaillant also produces energy efficient gas heating and spare parts.
