To install 5,000 m² of PV-modules on a residential area, built in the late 50's, is a piece of cake for businesses from "Solar City Gelsenkirchen". Besides, in this new solar-project of "THS Wohnen" the ways are short. There is a distance of less than 10 kilometers between principal, general contractor abakus solar AG, and the project-location. Until the middle of November, the roofs of all in all 47 apartment houses are being professionally equipped with PV-modules. They do not only look fancy, they also save some 300 t of CO2 each year.
"THS Wohnen GmbH" invests 2.25 m euro in the "Solar Project Pommernsiedlung". A total of 2,631 PV-modules with an output of some 540 kWp are currently being installed on roof areas in Albenhausen-, Rügen-, Stettiner-, Greifswalder-, Kösliner- and Deichstraße in GE-Bismarck.

The solar power plants on the roofs are an appreciated upgrading for the residential area. The residents generally have accepted the plans of their landlord "THS Wohnen". After all Gelsenkirchen as a solar city is to be supported by all residents.
